"Act of War" More Extra Missions
--------------------------------
On this disk you will find three missions for AoW that I have written.
Please note that all the missions require version 1.4 of Act of War. The
best way of getting this is by registering. If you have not registered yet,
I would advise that you do soon. It is only £5 and you get an up-to-date
version of the game and a mission editor so you can make your own mission
and put them in the public domain.
Using the mission disk
----------------------
Floppy drive users:
If you only have one drive, then boot up from the AoW disk and load the
program. Once you get to the main menu, swap the game disk for the mission
disk, wait for disk access to stop and select the choose mission option. A
list of the missions will come up for you to chose from.
If you have two (or more) drives, then boot up from the AoW disk without
the mission disk in any drive. Once Workbench appears, you can then insert
the mission disk in the second (or third, or even fourth if want to be
different) drive and load the program as usual. When you chose the
missions, the extra ones will appear (as if by magic...:-).
Hard Drive Users:
Boot up from the hard drive before putting the mission disk in. Once
Workbench has loaded, insert the mission disk and run the game as normal.
Of course, you could just copy them to the px: assign on your hard drive.
IMPORTANT NOTE
--------------
In order for the mission disk to work properly, it must be called "px". If
it is not, then the missions will not be recognized by the game.
Designers Notes
---------------
These missions took several days of effort to produce over a period of a
few weeks. I hope you enjoy them and it encourages you to write some
missions of your own. If you do, both Dave Smith, the author of AoW, and I
would like to see them. Perhaps you could put them in the public domain by
sending them to PD libraries. It is really easy. All you do is put them on
a disk like this one and send the disk to a PD library like 17-Bit. In just
a short time, your disk will appear in the advertisements in all your
favorite Amiga magazines.
All the graphics in these missions are my own work. If you want to use
them in your own missions, you are free to do so, but it would be courteous
to mention me in the doc file.
Next, I am going to start working on some medieval type missions with
knights, men-at-arms and peasants attacking castles. This may take some
time as it will require a whole new set of graphics will have to be drawn.
Lastly, I like to say hello to Neil Yates. I am glad that my previous
missions on 17-Bit disk 3096 encouraged you to put your very good Aliens
missions into the public domain. I hope to see more of your missions soon.
If any of you missed these missions, they are on 17-Bit disk 3201.
Well, now I've run out of things to say (type?), so I'll stop. If you want
to contact me to tell me what you thought of my missions, or indeed send me
your own missions, then my address is at the bottom of this doc. I promise
to reply to any letters that I receive. I received absolutely no letters
from my last set of missions. I hope that is not a comment on how good they
were. I hope to get at least a few this time, even if they are slagging
criticism. Any comments or criticism will be gratefully received. I would
prefer glowing praise and a nice big cheque, but It is not necessary :-).
Finally (honest! :-), I have made some sheets to make the job of mission
designing easier. There are four types of record sheets, one for
characters, one for weapons, one for miscelaneous bits and one for the
sound samples. They are properly produced in a DTP program and look really
good. If you would like some copies of these, contact me and I'll see what
I can do. I may have to charge a bit due to the photocopying and postage,
but it will not be much.

Capital after having written the Operation Alpha doc and thinking that I
probably will not be going to sleep for another hour, so I can get up
really late. (I am getting into prctice for going to college in September
